Examination Guidelines :

Internal Assignments (Topics / Evaluation / Marks Entry)


  • All processes for Internal Assignment for the ONLINE Programme shall be executed by the Controller of Examinations.
  • Internal Assignment questions, Evaluations etc., for ONLINE Programmes shall be the same as per ODL programmes offered by this University.
  • The student must download the question-and-answer scripts from the portal meant for that and upload the answer script (handwritten) in the student portal as pdf file and send the hard copy to the Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education, Bharath Institute of Higer Education and Research University, Chennai

Conduct of Practical Classes / Examinations


  • All the processes for the conduct of Practical Classes / Examinations for the ONLINE Programme shall be conducted by the Controller of Examinations.
  • The Controller of Examinations shall constitute a committee with the programme in charge for conducting practical classes and examinations through Online viva-voce.
  • All the process for conducting of semester examinations for ONLINE Programme shall be conducted by the Controller of Examinations.
  • The following question pattern shall be followed for ONLINE PROGRAMME EXAMINATIONS (Semester pattern)

Time : 2 Hours Maximum : 75 Marks

Part A - (54 × 1 = 54) Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)


(Answer all questions - Choose the correct answer)

Part B – (3 x 7 = 21 Marks) (Descriptive type)

Answer ALL the questions, choosing either (a) or (b)

Passing Criteria

Under Graduate 40%
Post Graduate 50%

Examinations are available for Online Programme students :


Type 1

A student can appear for the examination through online mode on their premises.
Part – A : student submit MCQ answers menu.
Part – B: subjective answers (Part – B) must be thru Online Proctored mode.

Type 2

A student can appear for the Examinations on the University premises (interested students / rural area / no internet facilities available, etc.,) either by using of computer system or by using OMR sheets by obtaining prior permission for the appearance from the Controller of Examinations well in advance.Both types of examinations will be scheduled on the same dates and times.

PROCEDURE TO BE ADOPTED FOR CONDUCTING ONLINE EXAMINATIONS


  • Students need to have their laptops/desktops with cameras for the Online Proctored Examination process. Students should also ensure that they have access to good internet connectivity. Online exams cannot be given through Tablets or mobile phone.
  • The student logs in on the computer and starts attempting the questions at the prescribed time.
  • Examinations shall be conducted every day as per the schedule in two sessions (10:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. - One Semester and 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. - Another Semester) Hours IST (Indian Standard Time).
  • Students can download hall tickets from the University web portal.
  • The students are instructed to log in to the examination portal 10 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
  • User ID and password to login to the University Web portal will be the Register number and Date of birth of student respectively.
  • The question paper consists of both Multiple-choice questions in Part A and Subjective type of questions in Part B.
  • Students are instructed to answer the Multiple-Choice Questions (Part – A)& (Part - B) in the examination portal itself thru Proctored Exam mode.
  • Students shall take a mock online test before the commencement of examinations
  • Students shall contact the Nodal officers to address issues if any. Contact details of Nodal officers will be displayed in the University web portal.
  • Candidates found guilty of using unfair means of any nature shall be liable for disciplinary action.

NSS - ANNUAL REPORT :

National Service Scheme popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhi Centenary year, 1969 and aimed at developing student’s personality through community service. The overall objective of National Service is Educational. This objective is attained through the service to the community.

OBJECTIVE

The overall objective of NSS is Personality Development through community service.

The broad objectives of NSS are to:

  • Understand the community in which they work
  • Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems
  • Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
  • Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural diaster and
  • Practice national integration and social harmony
Swachhta Pakhwada

Swachhta pakhwada is a fortnight initiative to carry on the agenda of Swachh Bharat Mission, aimed at promoting cleanliness. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is an initiative started by government of India to make the country completely clean of any mess or littering, thereby making every nook and corner of the nation clean and tidy. Swachh Bharat Mission was launched by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 2nd October, 2014 to urge people to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean India,by his 150th birth anniversary in 2019. The campaign was carried out nationwide in more than 4,000 districts/towns in India. The BIHER NSS Volunteers is involved all the Swachhta pakhwada activities on these days .The aim of the mission is to cover all the rural and urban areas of the country to present this country as an ideal country before the world.

SWACHHTA PAKHWARA

Swachhta Pakhwara is Humble Prime Minister Sh. NarendraModi urged the people of India to keep their surroundings clean during his first address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day. NSS have been conducting various activities under the cleanliness drive in the past.

To observe the SwachhtaPakhwara in befitting manner NSS organizations propose to conduct various activities during the observance of SwachhtaPakhwara. The BIHER NSS Volunteers is involved all the Swachhta pakhwara activities on these,so that the involvement of general public is also ensured in the celebration of this event.

NSS EVENTS

NSS activities have been divided in two major groups. These are regular NSS activities and special camping programme.

(a) Regular NSS Activity: Under this, students undertake various programmes in the adopted villages, college / school campuses and urban slums during weekends or after college hours;

(b) Special Camping Programme: Under this, camps of 7 days duration are organised in adopted villages or urban slums during vacations with some specific projects by involving local communities. 50% NSS volunteers are expected to participate in these camps.
